Micro Genius (1987)
Taiwanese Famicom clones that spread across Asia, Africa and Eastern Europe, and became the template for many later clones.
The Micro Genius brand began in 1987 and was gone by 1994, with games released 1990 to 1994. Models ran from the IQ-201 to the IQ-2000. They took 60-pin Famicom cartridges and needed an adapter for 72-pin NES games. The hardware underpinned Dendy and Pegasus, and units turned up in North Korea as late as 2008.
