Dendy (1992)
A Taiwanese-built Famicom clone sold in Russia by Steepler. It was synonymous with TV gaming across the former USSR.
Launched in Russia on December 17, 1992 at 39,000 rubles (about $94), it was a direct unauthorized Famicom clone built in Taiwan and later in China and Dubna. The Classic models drew on Micro Genius designs, while Junior models used a system-on-a-chip. Pirated NES titles and oddities like Somari were the staples. Wikipedia estimates 1.5 to 6 million units before production ceased in 1998 and says the brand name became generic for any Famiclone.
