Gunpei Yokoi's handheld LCD game line, Nintendo's first major worldwide electronic game hit.
Launched with Ball, the line used 'lateral thinking with withered technology'. Donkey Kong alone sold 8 million, and Nintendo cleared its debt by 1981.
