First standard-body full-frame DSLR, 12.7 MP.
Announced Aug 22, 2005 at $3,299, the 5D undercut the $7,999 EOS-1Ds Mark II by thousands. It used a 35.8x23.9 mm full-frame CMOS sensor and CompactFlash, and linked by USB. Its rendering is still prized by photographers.
