Blockade (1976)
Gremlin's Blockade, released in November 1976, is the origin of the snake game genre. Designer Lane Hauck developed the trail mechanic from a physics experiment.
Two players leave trails behind them and must avoid collisions. It inspired Atari's Surround and later Snake games.
