Disney Sound Source (1989)
A parallel-port speaker box with a small FIFO that gave Disney and other DOS games digital sound on PCs without a sound card.
Self-powered external unit with an 8-bit DAC and 16-byte buffer, so it cost little CPU time. Sold for Disney Software titles and supported by some third-party games.
