Zilog Z8000 (1979)
Zilog's 16-bit Z8000 appeared in early 1979. It was designed by Bernard Peuto and implemented without microcode.
Introduced early 1979 in two versions, the Z8001 and Z8002. About 17,500 transistors thanks to the lack of microcode.
