Zilog Z80 (1976)
Zilog introduced the Z80 in July 1976 as an enhanced, software-compatible successor to the Intel 8080. It was used in the TRS-80, Osborne 1 and ZX Spectrum.
Introduced July 1976. Compatible with Intel 8080 software, with an extended instruction set.
