Fujifilm FUJIX DS-1P (1988)
Shown at Photokina 1988, described as the first fully digital camera to record to a semiconductor memory card.
The DS-1P stored images as digital data on a battery-backed SRAM memory card rather than as analog video frames. It was a showpiece for Fujifilm's digital imaging work and was not widely sold. The commercial follow-up, the FUJIX DS-X, reached buyers in Japan in 1989. Collectors prize it as the true start of the all-digital camera era.
