Atari CX40 Joystick (1977)
The iconic one-button digital joystick that became a cross-platform standard.
Replaced the CX10 after one year, with eight directions and a red fire button on membrane switches. By 1983 about one in five US homes had one. Commodore, MSX, Atari ST and Amiga all adopted the same port.
