WDC 65C816 (1984)
16-bit extension of the 65C02 by Western Design Center, finished in March 1984. Full release came in 1985.
The 65C816 has selectable 8-bit or 16-bit operation and was used in the Apple IIGS and, in a modified form, the Super Nintendo.
