The first sixth-generation console, launched in Japan almost a year before the US.
Released November 27, 1998 at 29,000 yen with only four launch titles; Virtua Fighter 3 sold well. It had a built-in modem and 9.13 million sold worldwide. NA followed September 9, 1999.
