NEC MultiSync (1985)
First widely sold multi-frequency monitor. It auto-synced from 15 to 31 kHz, covering CGA, EGA and other signals, so it kept working as PC graphics changed.
It appeared at a high price but let users keep one monitor through video standard changes.
