IBM Monochrome Display Adapter (MDA) (1981)

IBM's sharp monochrome text card, released with the PC, which was initially far more popular than CGA for business use.

It drove the IBM 5151 monochrome display, and its clone-friendly design led directly to the Hercules Graphics Card.
