Colorado Jumbo tape backup (1988)
Colorado Memory Systems' Jumbo QIC tape line debuted at the start of 1988 and drove the company's sales into the early 1990s. HP bought the company in 1992.
Mini-cartridge tape drives like Colorado's connected through the floppy port and backed up whole hard disks overnight. They were slow but cheap compared to optical media.
